Top o’ the Morning to Ya

We’re always amazed that every week there is a new occasion for cooking. And St. Patrick’s Day is of course no different. Thoughts of Corned Beef and Cabbage and a Perfectly Poured Guinness immediately come to mind. And we’ve got those covered! But we’ve also discovered a couple of new recipes you might want to try this year:

Bailey’s Cheesecake – everyone loves a good cheesecake but this one is particularly light and the hint of Bailey’s flavor makes this cheesecake extra special.

Reuben Flatbread Pizza – put those Corned Beef leftovers to great use with a spin on the classic Reuben sandwich. Chef Rebecca Newell even shows you how to make your own Russian dressing from scratch. You can buy the pizza dough but why not be adventurous and try making your own Crispy Chewy Pizza Dough.

And here are a few more classics to perfect:
Black & Tan
Irish Coffee
Stout Beef Stew

We hope this gets you started on your plans for the holiday. And since we are all Irish on St. Patty’s Day, Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you all!

P.S. Avoid the green beer. Ick.

So you lads must drink in the Druid? It’s a good spot!

Funnily enough don’t ask for a black’n'tan in Ireland as the name is controversial:

Some parts of the country I’ve heard it called “half and half” and I think Guinness is pushing that name here for Harp & Guinness. Where I’m from I’ve heard folk ask for “1/2 Smithwicks, 1/2 Guinness”.
